Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science was set up to provide high-quality education to undergraduate students and instilling in them strong theoretical, intellectual and analytical skills that are important in this ever-changing and highly competitive environment. The Department of Computer Science offers a B.Sc. (H) Computer Science course, a prestigious graduation program of the University of Delhi and aims to provide students a thorough foundation in theory and hands-on experience of software development. The Department is spread over three spacious air-conditioned laboratories having more than hundreds of computers with the facility of IT peripherals such as scanners, projectors, and printers. The laboratories are well equipped with several multimedia computers of Pentium range loaded with open-source software platforms and curriculum recommended software such as C++, Java, SQL Server, Ubuntu, Android Studio, Oracle, etc. The College offers access to the Internet for faculty and students on their computers via a Wi-Fi network and e-Journal services at different locations of the college. A mini departmental library is also there for the use of faculty members as well as students. The Faculty of the Department encourages students to engage in research projects. The Department focuses on comprehensive student growth. Students in our department have consistently excelled at various Intra and inter-college competitions at different universities. Not only in their stream, but our students have also received awards for extracurricular activities such as Sports, Debates, Quizzes, etc. They have bright job prospects in the field of IT including the software industry and IT Department of any industry like manufacturing, Marketing, Banking, Entertainment, education, and various R&D institutions in government and private sector. In the preceding years, the students have been placed in various companies such as Facebook, Wipro, Software One, Tech Mahindra, Inshorts, Vivo, etc. Our students also got selection in top institutes/universities for Higher Education like IIIT Hyderabad, NITs, University of Delhi, etc. Faculty Mr. Bhavya Deep, M.Sc. Society & Activities

The Department of Computer Science has its own society “CS.Net” - A society by the students, of the students and for the students. The society was initiated in the year 2007 under guidance of Mr. Bhavya Deep and since then the society is alive and established strong bonding between students and the Department. The CS.Net aims to enhance the student’s IT awareness, technical knowledge, and personality development. It also provides a platform to highlight the skills and talent of students through the Annual Departmental fest “INTERFACE". In the year 2019-20, CS.Net celebrated Department inter-college annual techno-cultural festival “INTERFACE 20” on 12th and 13th February 2020 with a fusion of technical and cultural events like Code war, PUBG, FIFA, Sac Race, Beg Borrow Steal, Fast typing, Mr. and Ms. Interface, and many others.
