Physics, is the branch of science that examines and offers a logical framework to understand the world around us, focuses on matter, energy, space and time. It is one of the oldest academic disciplines of basic science, which has made significant contributions to our understanding of the numerous physical phenomena all around us. The advances and understanding of this field have been translated into new technologies and new ideas. The Department of Physics at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences tries to provide a stimulating environment to the students to gain a real insight into these new technologies and develop an acumen for further investigation and research in these fields. Ever since its inception, excellence in teaching and research has been the hallmark of our department. Over the years, the Department has produced graduates sought by industry, the professionals, and the public service as well as providing researchers for the future. The Department has state-of-the-art laboratories with all latest and sophisticated equipment needed to help the students have an experimental insight into the subject as prescribed by the syllabus. Some of the key equipment include Color Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Microprocessor Kits, Spectrometers, LCR Q-testers, Laser Kits, Universal Interferometer, Ultrasonic Grating Experimental Kit with CCD Camera, P-E Hysteresis Experiment Kit, Digital I.C. Testers etc. The Department has introduced both quantitative (problem-oriented) and qualitative (motivational in nature) approach to experiments in the laboratories. Workshops are organised from time to time to make the students familiar with these equipment.
