Eco Club PRANAHI of the college is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and responsible citizenship among students and staff. Throughout the academic year, the club organized a wide spectrum of activities aimed at fostering ecological sensitivity and encouraging community participation.

During July, August, and September 2024, PRANAHI conducted extensive plantation drives under the Green Action Plan 2024–25. Students and staff enthusiastically participated in the national campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, reinforcing the importance of afforestation and emotional bonding with nature.

In collaboration with the National EduTrust of India (NEI), the club successfully completed a 30-Day Environmental Challenge from 05 August to 04 September 2024. The initiative focused on promoting sustainable living and enhancing environmental awareness through daily eco-friendly actions. On completion, twenty students were awarded Green Ambassador Certificates, while the Nodal Officer, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, received the Green Guide Certificate. The Principal was honoured with the Eco Visionary Certificate, and the college was recognized as an Eco-Friendly College.

PRANAHI also organized several engaging activities including Swachhta drives within the campus, a hands-on workshop on paper recycling, a Best-Out-of-Waste competition, and a Flower Arrangement competition, all aimed at promoting creativity through sustainability.

Green Diwali was celebrated on 24 October 2024 with activities such as paper bag making and diya painting, encouraging eco-friendly festive practices. Student volunteers actively participated in a Green Walkathon organized by Panasonic Harit Umang, starting from Daulat Ram College, to spread awareness about plastic waste and its environmental impact. The walkathon witnessed participation from students of ten Delhi University colleges.

The club also organized an Intercollege Introductory Session on “Ao Sware Yamuna Kinare” on 04 February 2025, in collaboration with the Sant Nirankari Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, promoting river conservation and community engagement.

In March 2025, volunteers collected used plastic bags and took part in plastic rope making as part of the Panasonic Harit Umang program, ensuring effective disposal and reuse of plastic waste.

An exhibition titled “Seeds of Hope and Action: Making Sustainable Development Goals a Reality” was organized on 07 March 2025 in collaboration with Bharat Soka Gakkai. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Pawan Rathee, MCD Councillor, and highlighted the role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

On World Environment Day, the college and its volunteers were felicitated by Panasonic India and Focalyt for their outstanding contribution to environmental conservation under Panasonic India’s Harit Umang – Joy of Green Program, focusing on e-waste management, zero plastic waste, energy conservation, and afforestation.

A significant milestone was achieved with the inauguration of the Navgrah Vatika (Garden of Nine Planets) on 01 July 2025, during Van Mahotsav. The garden symbolizes the integration of traditional Indian knowledge with ecological sustainability and was inaugurated by Prof. Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi.

Further strengthening waste management practices, the college collaborated with Coca-Cola to install a Reverse Vending Machine with Crushing Technology on campus. Built on Biocrux Technology, the IoT-enabled machine crushes plastic bottles and cans at source, reducing waste volume by 60–70%. The system is linked to students’ mobile numbers, tracks bottle submissions, and rewards students upon depositing more than 150 PET bottles. The collected waste is responsibly managed through monthly pickups by Biocrux.

Club celebrated International E-Waste Day on 14 October 2025 in collaboration with Panasonic India and Focalyt, creating awareness about the safe disposal of e-waste and dry cells among students.

Through these sustained efforts, Eco Club PRANAHI continues to inspire environmental responsibility, encourage sustainable lifestyles, and actively engage the college community in building a greener and more resilient future.

Key milestones include the inauguration of Navgrah Vatika during Van Mahotsav by Prof. Balaram Pani, installation of an IoT-enabled Reverse Vending Machine in collaboration with Coca-Cola and Biocrux, and observance of International E-Waste Day with Panasonic India and Focalyt. These initiatives reflect PRANAHI’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable campus practices.
